VerHelst or Verhelst
Flemish Belgian and Dutch. Dutch seems not to capitalize the H, but don't know why that would be?

It means "dweller by an alder tree" from the Middle Dutch 'helst'. It can also denote someone who was from one of the various places called Elst. Verhelst is a contracted form of van der Helst. For surnames surnames.behindthename.com is usually more useful.
