Subject: Evan (is there a Old Breton origin? read on...)
Author: Paul "1"   (guest, 82.22.111.190)

The earliest reference i have found to this name dated from around 1500.

I found an unusual explanation for this name once in a Victorian work

Evan is from the Old Breton Aer = Carnage and -uiu = worthy
