It's a Belly Dance name my teacher gave me...it might be arabic, egyptian, iraqi, iranian...I'm not really sure.Does this help?

It might be a form of Lauza', which according to The Complete Book of Muslim & Parsi Names by Maneka Gandhi & Ozair Husain means "sagacious" or "witty" in Arabic; or a form of Lauzah, which according to the same authors is Arabic for "almond".

My Belly Dance teacher said something about it being the heart of the nut and so I'm trying to find out why she would name me that...have you heard of anything like this?
