Elissa - just how is it pronounced?
The correct way to prnounce this name is really bugging me. I thought it rhymes with Melissa except I think that as the name of an ancient Queen of Carthage it might be properly pronounced with a long Greek E. If so, how would the legendary queen's name have been pronounced - long E and the rest like Melissa or long E and the lissa bit said quickly>
To complicate matters for modern use of this name, I've read by Googling alot of messages by girls with this name complaining that no one gets it right. Some claim it's like Melissa but some claim it should be eh-lee-sa (which puzzles me in view of the doublr S).
