A couple questions
First... this one has been bugging me since I was in the second grade. Somebody left a message on our answering machine, but they called the wrong number. The woman's name was pronounced EYE-nus. Any idea what that is? I thought it might be Ines, but I'm not sure. And then there's Pacheco. I think it's a Spanish surname, and I'm curious about what it means. It's also the name of a place in Chihuahua, Mexico.Thank you!

Pacheco is a portuguese name. Which would make since with Inês, since it is also portuguese.

For the first question, I think it's probably Ines (or Inez) too. I saw a Cold Case Files (the defunct real-life crime show hosted by Bill Kurtis on A&E, not to be confused by the ongoing fictional drama Cold Case) once where a murder victim's name was Ines or Inez (I can't remember which), pronounced IE-nes.As for the second question, see here, though I'm afraid you may not be very satisfied: http://www.ancestry.com/facts/Pacheco-name-meaning.ashx.
