I don't know for certain, but because mehnit_madness is from the United States, the most likely place s/he has heard the name Misa is in the series Death Note, which is currently being syndicated on Cartoon Network. Amane Misa's name in the series is written as 弥海砂, according to Wikipedia. In the case of those particular kanji, what would her name mean?
