what is the meaning of the name ShahidaAll i know is that it is a female name
its the name of one of my muslim friends

Shahada - the declaration that there is no god, but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet..., etc. - is the first pillar of Islam. Its (loosely translated) Christian variant would be Faith. Maybe Shahida is a variant of that.

Shahidais probably the female version of "Shahid", which is the arabic word for "martyr". Literally it means "witness".
