Masajuto
I know that this is a Japanese name, or at least has some usage. Does anyone know what it means?

I'm not familiar with Masajuto and can't find any Japanese men with this name by googling, except for one typographical error. On one site, a former Finance Minister of Japan is mistakenly referred to as Masajuto Shiokawa. His name was actually Masajuro Shiokawa, and the kanji for his name mean "correct tenth son."

Yeah, that was the only one I had found, as well...wasn't aware that it was a typo. Thanks! If anyone else can find anything, that would be appreciated.

I also searched Japanese-language sites using Japanese script and did not get any hits, so "Masajuto" was mostly likely a one-time error.

Is there any chance it could be from another language? Perhaps something African?

Completely confused now: why African, and not, say, from New Guinea?I was just following the conversation (because I like to catch up on all posts by certain people) and ask only because the suggestion seemed so bizarre given the conversation so far! Does Japanese borrow a lot from an African language, or did you mean in this case there was a similarity in the phonetics with some part of Africa?
