My name is Donelda and doing research on it I found that it is the female name of Donald and it also branches off the name Donna. I also found that it branches off several Italian names. But during my research I never found anything that gave meaning such as Lady. I am happy to know you found this and can I ask where you found it so I may research as well.

I have a great-aunt named 'Donelda". I have always been told that it is a feminine form of 'Donald'. I don't proclaim myself an expert, but that is what I've heard. ;)

Sounds like Donald, and since Donna is also a feminine version of Donald, I guess you could be right.
