In the bible you will find the name JEDUTHUN (which sometimes appears as JEDITHUN), probably meaning "he who praises or confesses".
"Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising the Lord" (I Chron. 25:3; cf. 6:41)

Poreus may possibly be related to the French Porteuse, i.e. 'courier' or 'messenger'.
