Hello all.
Well looks like heated convo in here, but i have to agree with "Kylie" I have a baby naming book that my wife got.
And it has Lulie in it with the meaning of "warrior maiden"
The book is call "Choosing baby's name" Printed by Axiom Publishers in 1992.
I also go by that meaning as my wife is German and that it the name of our 15yr old son, Named after his German Grandfather, who was named after his father, Not to mention, my son's uncle is also named Lulie.
So you may like to also call me a "newbie" but for 3 generations the name Lulie has been passed down in a German family, but we must be wrong cause you know everything, right Chrisell??

Take a look at your post, at that series of numbers next to the word 'guest'. That's what's called an IP number, and it tells the world which computer the message has been posted from.
Funnily enough, this "Marc" who's just appeared to defend you is using the same computer you're using. Convenient, huh.
Using a "sock puppet" is the oldest trick in the book, dear. You'll have to do better than that! Now quit being silly. It's not my fault you were wrong, and now you've gone and broken Rule #2 as well. You're not the first person to be told this by any means, but most people just accept that this board has standards, and get on with life, rather than throwing a hissy-fit because they can't have things their way.

You need to face facts. i will scan the whole book if i must, but it clearly stated that Lulie means "warrior maiden".

So, you gave your son a name meaning "warrior maiden". Well done there. Not that I believe you for a second, since no-one I know who is old enough to have a teenage daughter is willing to come online late at night to defend their child in a silly internet squabble, let alone do it with such poor grammar.

Lulie is a nickname for Louise. Louise is a feminine form of Ludwig.
The Germanic element for fame is hlud, which forms the first part of Ludwig.
The Germanic element for war is wig, which forms the second part of Ludwig.
Wig does not appear in the name Lulie, ergo it does not have "war" or "warrior" as one of its linguistic elements.
Lulie also does not follow any recognised Germanic name form, male or female. The only German names with 'lie' endings are feminine pet names for established common names.
There is no evidence, linguistic or otherwise, that Lulie is anything other than a nickname for other names beginning with Lu or Lou, the primary candidates for which are Louise / Ludwig.
