Are you sure? I've never seen a circumflex on a Portuguese word before ... though I don't know Portuguese. But there is quite a large Portuguese community where I live.

There are plenty of Portuguese words with circumflexes, including names (Inês, Estêvão, etc). Victor is right, Estefânia is the Portuguese form of Stephanie.
