I want to name my son Michael D'Ambrosio III
I've decided to name my son Michael William D'Ambrosio. He will not share a middle name with me or my father, but if i understand it correctly that isn't necessary. the question i have is this. I am not a JR. because my mother find calling someone junior silly and didn't want to be. now i am about to have the third Michael D'Ambrosio in my family and i think him being Michael D'Ambrosio the third would be really cool, but i'm not sure if he qualifies for it since there is no junior of II.

Check out BtN's link:http://www.behindthename.com/faq.php?type=namesBasically, it says the name must be the same. For example, if a great uncle was named Michael William, then your son could be Michael William II.Not everyone gets the whole jr. / II thing. My brother named his son David Mark (his exact name) but didn't want a junior so he just put II after little David's name on the birth certificate. It's not technically accurate and we tried to tell him so, but legally, little David is David Mark II.Hope this helps.BTW, I'm curious, how does Baby's mom feel about having a third Michael in the family. ;-)

Cool. LOL, I thought only little girls picked out baby names. I know I certainly did.

He'd be JUNIOR.
To be the II or the III the full name needs to be exactly the same.

NoTo be a junior, you have to have the same first, middle, and last names as the father.

I'm pretty sure that it doesn't count if the middle name is different. I have a friend who would be a junior except he has a different middle name too.
