My friend's daughter is named Ayesha. She pronounces it AH-sha and says that it means princess. According to BtN, it's a variant of Aisha and means alive. I've always pronounced it EYE-sha or ah-EE-sha before. What is the correct pronunciation? Also, does anybody know where she may have gotten the meaning princess? Is there any accuracy in that meaning?
