Richenza?
I have come across this name a few times on wikipedia, and it intrigued me. I searched for it here and found it on Mrs Claire's list of Ladino names, but I am still puzzled. I assume that it does mean "rich," but is it just an elaboration? I do not know very much about Ladino names - where is Richenza from? The noblewomen named Richenza on wikipedia seem to be Germanic.Any information about Richenza? TIA :)

Richenza is a feminine form of Richard. Pretty snazzy. :-)

I have always thought it to be a feminine form of Richard, the only references I have found lists it as such but I could be wrong
www.thinkbabynames.com/meaning/0/Ricarda
www.gaminggeeks.org/Resources/KateMonk/England-Medieval/Norman.htmRICHARD
Gender: Masculine
Usage: English, French, German, Czech
Pronounced: RICH-ard (English), ree-SHAR (French), RIKH-ahrt (German) [key]

Means "brave power", derived from the Germanic elements ric "power, rule" and hard "brave, hardy". The Normans introduced this name to Britain.
