I don't know what our last name means. All I know is that it's very uncommon. As in there are only two families who came to this country whose name was changed to that spelling. One was from Cologne. According to my father in-law, their family was from Scotland. But I can do first and middle.

Mine
FN - old, wise river
MN - my God is an oath

Husband
FN - victory of the people
MN - handsome

Son
FN - son of the south
MN - victory of the people

So yes, quite disjunct.
