ArchivesHELP What does this name mean
I need to know the meaning of this name and its orgin can any one out there help. Fokke Fokkema. I know that Symen came to the states and settled in Michigan and thats where he died. They end up changing the spelling of the name along the way but its like this name just disappeared. If any one has any info please contact me.

Fokke is a Dutch or Frisian name, originally a pet form of several different names which began with the syllable "folk" such as Folkert, Folkrad, Folkward, etc. "Folk" meant about what it does in modern English; "people".
