This is a very, very old Name and today disused in Germany!
Today its mostly a surname!
But in the Mid-Age, it was a Variant/affectionate Form of Jan, Johannes. Others are: Jenchen, Jengen, Jentgen, Jöntgen, Jüntgen.
In English is it Ian/John (Jentgen is like "Johnny").
