Finnish name Arja

I found the Finnish name Arja (originally masculine but now completely feminine) and that it was created by Eino Leino. But I'm not being able to find the etymology and the meaning. Any ideas?

(I already searched at Satu's great website and Arja is only listed but not explained.)

ETA: mixing Siri's and Satu's nicknames.

Hi Lumia,

According to "Etunimet" by Kustaa Vilkuna, the name is of unknown meaning and origin, but there might be a connection to the Russian names Arija, Arja, Ara (Russian forms of Ariadne).
