Tondelayo was the name of the dam of my wonderful Arabian horse,
Don Bandido. This mare was exquisite in appearance and became a Living Legend in the show ring. She was named by
Carol Chapman Wood, who was her trainer at the time of her show career.
Carol was a beautiful very colorful show performer herself. Certain names of the Donoghue show horses at that time were similar,
Bora Bora, being another one. Im sure
Carol Chapman Wood named this Arabian mare Tondelayo after the exotic beauty of
Hedy Lamar.
