what about this name?
I was thinking of the name Tyrel for my up and comming son's name. I have heard it a few times, it seems rather unique. I could not find it here, or anywhere else I have searched. If someone has an oppinion or maybe an origin or meaning to it I would really like to hear it. Thank you all very much

Personally, I like the spelling "Terrell" (pronounced tir-ELL), which you may recall from the Broncos running back of the same first name. Ya know, the one whose mama, Mrs. Davis, serves up the chunky soup?

I hope you don't mind me jumping in:)? I found a few sites with the name Tyrel (spelled a few different ways)--most of them state that it was originally a surname, probably derived from the Old French "tirer", meaning "to pull"--it was used in the context of an animal pulling against the reins, and when applied to humans, eventually was regarded as meaning "obstinate" or "stubborn". (If I'm totally off-base, feel free to correct me;)) Hope that helped:)!
Here are a few of the sites I checked:
