I was talking to my grandmother the other day, and she told me her full name is Mary Fleurette Emerance, which I never knew before. I was wondering if anyone knew where the name Emerance comes from? She says Emerance was HER grandmother's name, and they are French Catholic, from Montreal, Canada.

Emerance is an alternative spelling for Emerence. Emerence is a Dutch and French form of Emerentia, the name of an early Christian martyr in Rome, from Latin emereri, “to earn, to merit.” Emerence was regularly used in both Quebec and the Netherlands in the 19th century.
