Although it may still be possible that on occasion Hispanic Americans have used Ailyn simply as a "Hispanicized" spelling of Eileen, in South America it evidently is primarily thought of as a name from the Mapuche language, as discussed in the following former thread on this board:

I know that Aylin (EYE-leen or eye-LEEN) is a Turkish name which means "moon". It might be a variant of Aylin or just another spelling of Aileen or Eileen.

Perhaps a modern variant of Aileen with the popular suffix lyn.
