Meraud and Morvoren
I've see these listed as Cornish names but can't find the source. Does anyone know if these are 'real' or modern invented names? Morvoren is supposed to mean mermaid but the modern Cornish word for this is different (mórwerghes). I've heard of Meraud as meaning something to do with the sea in Cornish, but also the French word emeraude (emerald)as an explanation. I'm assuming it's pron mer-O but I'm not sure. Any info would be appreciated as while I have Cornish ancestors all language links are long gone and I don't want to give a child a name that sounds completely ignorant! Thank you.

Meraud is also a Medieval form of Matilda, as is Maud/Maude. :)
