From David Eddings' 'Belgariad' and 'Mallorean' series. It could go under the literature section, I suppose, but it doesn't have any real meaning even in the books. 'Gara' just means 'from Gara', and 'Pol' indicates that the bearer of the name is a sorceress/disciple to a particular god.
