Thanks, Satu. I did some more digging last night, and I found the name EILERT, which is a Scandinavian cognate of Eckhard, meaning "hard edge of a sword". Could this name be related?

Hej Lars,Yes, of course that's possible. Ellert could be related to Eilert as well. An older form of Eckhard is Egilhard so there the connection is easier to see.Regards, Satu
