Luca is also the feminine form of Lucius in Hungary (as can be found in the database), so that would match the meaning.But the comments also mention some other possible meanings.

Luca in Romanian is a masculine name though, related to English "Luke". It's one of the VERY few first names in Romanian that end in -a. The only others that I can think of are "Mihnea", "Mircea", "Manea" (out of use or only in use in surnames), "Voinea" (likewise).I SERIOUSLY doubt it's connected at all. The Romanian masculine of Lucius is "Lucian", which is a masculinized form of the name "Lucia", whose origins I explained in my previous message. Not Luca. Luca is originally Greek.
