Sha'ban is the 8th month of the Muslim calendar where it means 'consecutively escalating' or 'undisturbed increase' - an escalation of blessings that prepares for the blessings of Ramadan. The prophet Muhammed referred to Sha'ban as 'my month'. Given your Muslim background I would assume that this was the intended meaning of your name 'consecutively escalating blessings' - a nice life-wish sort of name :o)

By searching for your name on Google, I came up with many Indian baby name sites that gave two different meanings:
1. decorated (or famous, so the 'decorated' meaning may mean something like 'recognized for achievement and decorated with an award')
2. young lady (from Arabic, but as I don't know any Arabic I can't say how accurate that is)

Hi Shabana,
I have no idea of that, nor I speak Arabic. However, "belonging to the night" was one of the meanings that I saw somewhere. I think it is quite romantic, isn't it?:) At least I thought it would very much characterise one beautiful girl by the same name I met recently.
