Jave?
I've run across the name "Jave" a couple of times, and I'm wondering what it means. One baby name site said it's just a variation on "Jay". Is this true? Or does it maybe have its own meaning? And how would it be pronounced? I'm sorry that I don't know the name's ethnic background. I do know that I've seen it used as both a first name and a last name. There's just something about this name that makes me terribly curious. Thanks in advance for any information!

If it rhymes with "cave" perhaps it is a short form of Javan or Javen.

Hi. It could be a twist of Jahve which is hebrew and means the wise one.

Where did you find the meaning "the wise one" for Jahve?

I came across that interpretation on the web. I do however have read in an old biblical dictionary that it is another word for God and it means "I am" and it is often used along with other words to be more descriptive.
