Subject: Several questions about "Avedis"
Author: CFS   (guest, 71.192.165.143)

Several of my ancestors (of both genders) were named "Avedis", which apparently means "good news".
1) Is it more commonly bestowed on girls or boys?
2) How many Americans are currently named that?
and finally:
3) Which syllable is stressed?
Thank you!
