Dagmara is a Slavic form of Dagmar. The name is of Old Norse origin (dagr = day + mar = maid), but it can also derive from Germanic (dag = day + maru = famous).

Dagmar: Danish, Clearness = glory or glaory of the day.

I have been told Flavie means "Fair yellow hair" and has Scandanavian roots. This could be, but I have very black hair as did the grandmother I was named for. How did you get your name? It appears more popular than I thought.

Looks like a form of Dagmar. Click on the link to find out more. It may have another meaning, though, and I know I've heard the name before. It's just all my names/origins/meanings I've compiled are on my other computer. Anyone else who's more knowledgable than me, please give Dagmara your input!!

I think that Dagmara is a Slavic form of Dagmar, but I'm not sure.
