Hi. i have searched various name meaning sites and i cannot find a meaning for my name. My name is Shandrika. If anyone can help me find the meaning of my name i would really appreciate a response. My parents liked the name but never thought of checking its meaning.

When you ask for meanings of names, it would hep you get a better answer if you specify which cultural tradition the name might have come from. In this case, it would, for example, help very much to know if there is any Indian (as in from the subcontinent, not native american) influence.

In the meantime, other people have answered along the lines I was thinking. Shandrika may come from the root chandra (Meaning moon http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?nmd=n&terms=chandra, see http://www.behindthename.com/bb/arcview.php?id=203320&board=gen for the derivation). -ikA is a feminine diminuitive.
