Re: Meaning of my name
My friend Louette got her name from her grandmothers, Louise and Henriette - her parents did a merger!Perhaps something like that gave rise to your name?

Hey,I just read yor message and found it quite amazing, because my name is Louette and i got my name from my grandmother, who combined her names. I haven't actually met another Louette, not to mention one who got their name in the same way I did.Louette

I certainly would like to know of others named Louette. My name was created by taking the name of my father LOUis and my mother MargarET and then adding the TE in honor of my Alsatian grandmother. As far as other meanings are concerned , I guess it may be a short form of alouette - meaning Lark, I think. Of course there is a team in Canada - hockey perhaps - named the AlouettesI'm also interested in whether or not other Louettes have found the name difficult - people pronounce or spell it incorrectly - or I have to spell it out all the time. (I wanted to be Elizabeth or Marie but I am Louette Evangelyn.I have been looking for a site like this. The only Louette I've ever seen in print was some years ago in a news article from California. It was of a nurse names Louette Baker. Hope to hear from others. LB
