Re: Research name meaning
Hawaiian names, unless they are Hawaiianizations of names from other cultures, as Keoni from John, are created by the parents from normal words in the Hawaiian language. You would have to consult the parents directly to know what exactly they were thinking of, because there often would be several possibilities, depending on how the name breaks down into separate words and what the various possible meanings of the words are. Here is a link to a Hawaiian English dictionary so you can research the possibilities:http://wehewehe.org/It looks to me like "life work" is one good possibility for the meaning of Olahana, but that may not be what the particular parents intended.

Thanks for the response. You are right on target. The parents gave this meaning: OLAHANA is a combination of the Polynesian words "Ola" meaning "life" and "ohana" meaning "family". Loosely translated it means "one who is dedicated to family life, or to the life of the family."
