Re: whats my name in japanese
in reply to a message by Mike
Although I can't speak fluently, I know enough about Japanese pronounciation to know your name would be something like "Maiku" (Mike; MIE-KOOH*) or "Maikaru" (Michael; MIE-KAH-ROOH*). "Maiku" would be more common than "Maikaru", but it wouldn't be unusual if you normally are called "Michael" rather than "Mike", but you seem to be called "Mike" a lot, on account of what name up entered for the post. So, it would be "Maiku", pronounced almost exactly like "Mike" in English, only Japanese people might have a little accent on the "k", making it sound almost like "Mike-oo". In katakana, however, it would be spelt "Maiku".*The "u"/"ooh" part should be short and barely noticable.
