Sofia/Sophia
In Italy, is the name Sofia only used spelled like this or also in the -ph- variant(Sophia)?Thanks for any information!

Sofia is the greek spelling as far as I know and that is our last child's name

yesBecause the "ph" sound doesn't exist. Sophia Loren spelled it this way to make it more exotic.

I once read an article about Sophia LorenWhere she stated that she was mocked by people in Italy because of her name - call SOP-hia because ph did not make an f sound in that language.However, that was sometime ago.
