A 'net search revealed numerous sites showing that "Jahida" is also a name in common use in the Middle East. I don't know how the Spanish may pronounce this name (Yah-hee-dah?, Hah-ee-dah?) but it appears to be a transliterated form of the feminine Turkish name "Cahide", which means "hard-working woman".
