I looked and looked for the meaning of Arizbeth and couldn't find it anywhere...until I met a Jewish scholar and told him my name. Then, voila, he told me it came from the old Hebrew language and could mean either "gift of the Earth" or "full of life." The funny thing is that I am a Mexican female, and there are many more latinas with my name. Hebrew...who knew.

I am so glad someone else has this name. I have been looking everywhere for the meaning. My grandfather, who gave me the name, passed and never told me anything in regards to where it came from. Thank you!

It looks very similar and is perhaps related to Elizabeth. For example, the Hungarian version of Elizabeth exchanges the 'l' for an 'r':
