Does anyone have any history or meaning of the male name Wickcliffe?

I think it is from the English surname Wyclif(fe)/Wiclif(fe) meaning "dweller on the white cliff" from the Old English 'hwit' meaning "white" + 'clif' meaning "cliff".Hope that this is of some help. : )

"White cliff" sounds reasonable; still the element "wick" could also mean "settlement, village" (from the Latin "vicus" meaning "village" or "farm"). Sometimes names or name elements get mixed up so you can't really tell which is right or wrong or even older than the other.
