I read it in a book once, but I'm not sure on the origin and if it is actually used.

no It's not , Anwar Means "brighter" in Arabic. This name was borne by Egyptian president Anwar al-Sadat, awarded the Nobel Prize for peace in 1978 but assassinated three years after that.
