Guilhemine????
have always had a fasination with names. i was named after a family war hero and ever since my mum told me, when i was a little boy, i loved the background of names as a small hobby while i go to library, traveling and the net. Just so happens that my significant other has a very unique name. She is from france and even there it is rare. Her name is Guilhemine. I cant find it in any website or book. Closest i came was a french writer "Guillemine" (no H), and can trace it as a female version of Guilaume or Guilem even Guilherme, which are the versions of William in France, Catalan, and Portuguese respectivly. I also came to Wilhemina Thats as far as i got with my limited resourses. I would like to know of any history behind this name famous people etc. or if you know anybody that bares that name.

indeed this name is closely related to William, Whilhelm, Wilhelmina, Wilhelmine, Guilhem (in France) or even Guillemette (still in france).
wilhelmina is the name of several queen of netherlands and there are streets, parks, and avenues called that way.
I know that you can break Guilhemine in two parts made of the two english words will and helm (i know the traduction in french but it won't help since you speak english.
I never met myself anyother guilhemine (with a lh and not ll!) but I heard of some of them.

It is definitely the feminine of Guillem, a variant of Guillaume / William, and a variant of Wilhelmina.
