Hi! Just popping in to see if you all could help me. There seems to be split opinions on how to pronounce Lara. Perhaps this just depends on where you live etc. But I would really like to know if there if a correct way to say it. Thank you very much for your help.

Yes, technically, since it's a nickname for the Russian Larisa, it LAHR-ah. That's how it's said in Russian. As a given name, it can be said however the parent wants it to be.

I've heard it pronunced both lahr-a and LAR-a.

I've heard is pronounced lair-ah but it looks like la-rah to me! :)
