The male name Ivano is quite popular in Croatia and I found info that it was also used in Italy. I'm looking for info on popularity of Ivano in Italy and/or instances of usage in other countries.

I've never met an Italian Ivano, though I've met a few Ivan.

Actually, Ivano is quite a common name in Italy and is considered not foreign. I've met some Ivano myself. There's also the female equivalent: Ivana. Ivan is less common, and is usually perceived as more foreign.
