Virdimura was a Jewish woman who worked as a physician in Sicily (thanks Google!). Her name is not used in Italy nowadays. It hasn't an immediate meaning in Italian. It could be related to "verde", green, from Latin "viridis". Maybe it has a Semitic etymology.
