Hello,Found the name Moses to be Ancient Hebrew, but shouldn't be Ancient Egyptian? He was an Egyptian prince and to avoid being killed, he's given an Egyptian name...

Moses itself is a Hebrew name. It seems to be the Hebrew translation of the original Moses's Egyptian name. But as with any figure whose thousands of years old it's hard to tell for sure. Here's what Wikipedia says on the subject of the original Moses's names:
* The Midrash identifies Moses as one of seven biblical personalities who were called by various names.[13] Moses' other names were: Jekuthiel (by his mother), Heber (by his father), Jered (by Miriam), Avi Zanoah (by Aaron), Avi Gedor (by Kohath), Avi Soco (by his wet-nurse), Shemaiah ben Nethanel (by people of Israel).[14] Moses is also attributed the names Toviah (as a first name), and Levi (as a family name) (Vayikra Rabbah 1:3), Heman,[15] Mechoqeiq (lawgiver)[16] and Ehl Gav Ish (Numbers 12:3)[17]
* Some medieval Jewish scholars had suggested that Moses' actual name was the Egyptian translation of "to draw out", and that it was translated into Hebrew, either by the Bible, or by Moses himself later in his lifetime.[18]
* A 20th century Catholic source says that Moses is an Egyptian name, with the same root as Tuth-mose and Ramses. It means "born." Exodus 2:10 gives the etymology. Moses would be the participle of the verb masha. "to draw.[19]
* According to Islamic tradition, his name, Mūsā, is derived from two Egyptian words: Mū which means water and shā meaning tree (or reeds), in reference to the fact that the basket in which the infant Moses floated came to rest by trees close to Pharaoh's residence.[12]

In short Moses is the name that stuck in historical/religious text but it's not nessicarily the one he was known by during his life.I hope this made some sense..

I'm no more sure than you are, but perhaps Moses is the Hebrew form of the name he was given in Egyptian?
