Re: DAVIN
Davins of the world seem to unite: there is even a Davin Web Ring. As a starting point, check out:
http://www.eskimo.com/~davin/davin.html
There you will discover that Davin is, among other things, a Cambodian Angel.Other possibilities:
It may be related to Deven, Gaelic for "poet" . Or it may be yet another version of David.

http://www.eskimo.com/~davin/davin.htmlBeen there, done that-checked out the whole Davin ring thing. They had a different pronounciation however. The one pronounciation that was posted was like David with an 'n'. We say it so that it rhymes with Gavin.Any other suggestions?? PLEASE!!

You could always ask PriaposLovs to anagram Davin's full name for you. ;)-- Nanaea

Davin the American IndianI'll leave PriaposLovs to anagram a phrase out of Davin's name for you, and I see that Sarahjeanne is being a bit devilish right now. :)My speciality is waving my magic Anagram Wand and turning people into Native Americans! And Davin is in luck, because he's going to get a choice of several Native American names for himself!Native American Anagram Names for "Davin Joseph Walker"=Davin Joseph War Elk
Jarek Dolphin Waves
Jake Devin Sharp Owl
John Kade Silver Paw
Jordi Sven Pale HawkAnd, of course, all of those make great magick names, as well, in case Davin ever decides to become a neo-pagan. "John Kade Silver Paw" is my personal favorite. :)-- Nanaea

Thanks for the Native American names. I agree with you on John Kade Silver Paw, but I thing Jordi Sven Pale Hawk fits him better. I don't know if its the nationality of Sven, the Star Trek TNG thing or the fact that hawk is part of it.
Thanks Nanaea!Got anything in your bag of tricks that might give some insight on the significance of the name beyond what I came up with?

Okay, then Davin's Official Native American Name shall now be: "Jordi Sven Pale Hawk". :)As for further insight on the significance of "Davin"... If you've already been to that website that PriaposLovs gave you, then you've done a pretty thorough job already on your own. I have just two reference books that mention the name "Davin":From *The New Age Baby Name Book*, by Sue Browder: "Old Scandinavian: 'brightness of the Finns,' who were once thought to be the most intelligent people of the North. Popular in Scandinavia."From *Baby Names: A New Generation*, by Barbara Kay Turner: "Davin is a French form of Davyn (DAY-ven, DAV-en), which is a Welsh variant form of David."Okay, now give me *your* full name so I can give you a Native American Indian anagrammed name of your own. :)-- Nanaea

Thank Nanaea for the background and the sources you have used. As for me-
maiden name: Lori Sue Richards
married name: Lori Sue Johnson
and those are not abbreviated names-Mom and Dad abbreviated them before they put them on the birth cert. :)

Couldn't make much out of your maiden name:"Sherri Airclouds"But got you a lot of choices from your married name:"Juli Noonhorses"
"Lise Jo Sunhonor"
"Loni Jo Sunhorse"
"Sue Jo Lionhorns"I think "Loni Jo Sunhorse" is my favorite. :)-- Nanaea
