In old French, a "baladine" is the feminine form of a "baladin", meaning a troubadour. But in France it is not a name...

Wow, that's strange! Is she from the Middle Ages? Because people sometimes had very strange names in France at that time...

No...

...she was the mother of the French/Jewish artist Balthus (born Balthazar Klossowski de Rola), and I guess she was born in the 19th century.
