How do you pronounce Nimue?
Nimue is Morgane le Fay's lady in waiting in Arthurian lore. I was just wondering, since I think it looks pretty, but I have no idea how to pronounce it. Thanks in advance.

I had always heard NIM-oo-ay, with the middle syllable just barely pronounced.

I pronounce it as Nim u ay, and I thought she was the sorceress who imprisonned Merlin but then there are many different versions of the Arthurian legendsImage hosted by Photobucket.comeditted

She supposedly seduced Merlin. She was also Morgane's lady in waiting. I probably spelled seduced wrong didn't I? It's been a long day speaking Portuguese and I forget English, sorry. Thank you for the help though!

I learned many years ago the proper pronunciation was Nim-oo-ay. I had a beautiful black Standard Poodle and her name was "Nimue" which I pronounced....Nim-way....which I found easier for me and for her and others being 2 syllables instead of trying to get that oo in it. Everyone loved it and is is still one of my favourites names although I have taken liberties with the pronunciation. That was a long time ago and who really knows? I also had a Sir Lancelot and a Sir Galahad, Big beautiful Apricot Standard Poodles. Most of us used monikers on the net at that time and I was "Morgana le Fey" I loved my Camelot poodles.
