Harlean and Virna
I was browsing a book about movie stars and found out that Jean Harlow's real first name was Harlean. I've also seen this as the name of a Swedish photo model, but it's definitely not a Swedish name. Does anyone know anything about it?
Also, there was an Italian movie star called Virna Lisi. Where does the name Virna come from? It might be Croatian. Caprice - The Phantom of the BTN

Jean Harlow was born Harlean Carpenter and her mother was born Jean Harlow. Her mother simply took HARL from her maiden name Harlow and EAN from her own first name Jean and created Harlean for her daughter. When the actress went to her first audition on a dare, she signed in as "Jean Harlow," her mother's maiden name. In essence, she was using her own name in its original form.Virna is a variant of Verna as already explained.

Virna is occasionally used in Croatia (there are 70 of them currently here), but it's not Croatian. It's mostly used in Italy and comes from Latin Verna - springlike/ connected to spring, etc.
