I wish I could find a meaning for the name Tambra. It is a very uncommon name and they always refer it to Tamara. It isn't Tamara. It is different. My mom said she made it up. I was surprised when I heard of others. I go by Tammy and it is very common.

If your mother made it up, so could other people's mothers.

If your mother says she made it up then it probably has no meaning. You could chose to interpret it as a smush of Tamara and Amber / Ambre / Ambra.
